Mary Mahady to Seek Candidacy for McHenry County Clerk Position
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
November 15, 2021
McHenry, IL – Today, Democrat Mary Mahady announced her candidacy for McHenry County Clerk. Mahady has long been an advocate for improving our voting system and increasing voter turnout in all elections.
“We cannot afford to have doubts about the way our elections are conducted and managed, but those doubts have begun to creep into McHenry County’s elections.” Mahady said “I will make sure the ballots are correct, that election judges have the training and tools they need to be successful in their role, and that voting is readily accessible to all eligible voters.”
Mahady currently serves as the McHenry Township Assessor and previously served 13 years on the McHenry County Board of Review for property tax appeals. “My experience has given me invaluable training to critically analyze issues and solve problems, before they get out of control.”
As a McHenry County resident for 41 years, Mahady raised her family here and has been actively involved in the community, including serving in leadership roles in several organizations. As a local REALTOR she has served on the Grievance and Professional Standards committees and worked to improve standards of practice in the profession. It is with that same determination to improve our communities that she will now focus on correcting the issues that have been plaguing our local elections recently. Mahady said, “I am committed to doing the work needed to provide the efficient, transparent and accurate election process the citizens of McHenry County deserve.”
